Swede Questioned Over Girlfriends Balcony Fall

A 34-year-old Swedish national is facing up to 10 years in prison after his girlfriend died after falling eight floors from their apartment following an argument.

Emergency services were called to a condo in Pratumnak on Tuesday evening after a member of staff heard a ruckus and seen bedding and other items being thrown to the ground from a room on the eighth floor.

It was then the employee noticed the body of a young woman laid in a pool of blood with serious injuries.

Swede Questioned Over Girlfriends Balcony Fall

When police arrived they found the Swede on the ground close to the body of his girlfriend sobbing. EMTs administered first aid and rushed her to hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Swede who told police the couple had been together four years and had an argument earlier in the day. He claims his partner threatened to jump but slipped on water and fell over the balcony.

Police were not buying his version of events after checking the room and balcony. He was arrested and taken to the station for further questioning.

He will be charged with fatal recklessness, that carries a maximum sentence of 10 years.
