Thieving Brit Arrested In Pattaya

A British tourist who stole a motorbike on his first day in Thailand has been arrested in Pattaya, according to police.

Pol Col Khemmarin Phitsamai, superintendent of Pattaya police, said on Saturday that a British man, identified as 39-year-old Ben Frost, had been taken into custody after he was tracked down to a hotel on Pattaya Klang Road following two complaints against him.

On the charge sheet is the theft of a motorbike from Soi 5 on Beach Road at around noon on Dec 30 together with stealing a wallet containing cash plus a mobile phone from a Thai man at a beer bar on Pattaya Sai 2 Road in the early hours of Jan 1.

Once presented with the evidence, Frost confessed to his crimes and was formally charged.

He was remanded in custody pending further legal proceedings.
