Three Injured In Khlong Toei Fire

Three people were injured and at least five houses damaged in a fire in the Khlong Toei area of Bangkok on Tuesday evening.

Firefighters tackled the blaze for around 30 minutes before containing it after locals raised the alarm just before 6pm.

Two residents were injured after jumping from a two-storey house in a bid to escape the flames and a fireman cut by glass. All three were taken to Theptharin Hospital for treatment.

An initial investigation into the cause of the fire pointed towards a house melting copper wire for sale. Locals told police this had been the third fire this week at the suspected house.

Investigators are gathering evidence to determine the exact cause of the fire.
