Tourists Attacked And Beaten Up By Khaosan Road Bouncers

Four men dressed in black, together with two other accomplices, have been captured on camera beating up two British tourists on Bangkok’s backpacker ghetto Khaosan Road.

The 90-second long smartphone footage was filmed on the night of Sunday 14th August, according to Thairath News, and was soon widely shared on Thai Facebook pages and groups, with social media commenters calling for police to arrest and charge the thugs.

The beating was said to have started after the man seen on the ground being hit with a metal bar, and repeatedly kicked gave the middle finger to one of the men in black outside a nearby nightclub following a disagreement.

The video also clearly captures the faces of the thugs involved so police should have no problem identifying the attackers.

UPDATE Wednesday 17th August 9.20pm: Thai media are reporting after the assault the victims of the kicking filed a complaint with police who have subsequently arrested and charged two Thai men.

On the subject of police and Khaosan Rd, where were all the extra boots on the ground said to be deployed in the area to reassure tourists and keep them safe in the wake of last weeks bombings?
