Two Thai tourists were banned from flying abroad after airport officials found monks had drawn mystic signs in their passports for good luck.
The holidaymakers, who were not named, were taking their first flights outside the country when they checked in at the Suvarnabhumi airport last Sunday night.
Desk staff looked over their documents and immediately noticed large Buddhists doodles on the first page of their passports.
The ancient scripts were supposed to bring good luck but they ended up costing the tourists a few thousand baht for their missed plane tickets.
A travel agent who assisted the pair said they would need to apply for new passports before flying.
