Two Twatpackers Arrested In Chiang Mai For Selling Stuff On The Street

Two twatpackers hawking goods on the streets in Chiang Mai have been arrested by immigration police for working without work permits.

43-year-old Greek national Zoulis Spyridon – described by police as a “hippie” due to his scruffy appearance – and Lin Xiaoping, 28, from China, were arrested on a street close to the Thapae Gate where they were sat on the footpath selling goods in among Thai hawkers.

The pair were caught as part of a crackdown on begging and unlicensed selling.

Both were charged with “being an alien working without a work permit” and detained pending further legal proceedings.
