Police in Udon Thani are hunting two women involved in an armed robbery at a gold shop on Monday that seen the pair make off with 100,000 baht worth of jewellery.

One woman entered the shop while her accomplice waited outside in a silver Toyota Altis. Fooling an assistant into believing she wanted to purchase a bracelet worth around 20,000 baht the robber then pulled out a gun.

Threatening both the assistant and the owner, two more items weighing two baht each were handed over but demands for cash were not met after being told it had been banked.

The owner then advised the woman, thought to be around 30, to leave as police were on the way.

The robber fled with gold worth around 100,000 baht.

Police soon arrived at the shop, dusting for prints and checking CCTV footage in a bid to identify the pair and reveal their escape route.

The search for the pair continues.
