Uzbek Tourist Nabbed With Dodgy Dollars In Phuket

A tourist from Uzbekistan was arrested in Phuket on Monday after he tried to exchange dodgy dollars at a money booth.

Boboyeb G’olijon Obidovivh, 27, was detained in Rawai after the owner of the M&P money exchange suspected some of the $1700 baht he wanted to exchange was counterfeit.

The eagle-eyed money man was spot on as police soon discovered 9 of the 17 $100 bills were indeed fake.

Boboyeb had some cock and bull story but the boys in brown weren’t buying it although they did say they would follow up on his claims he’d been handed the dodgy dollars at a bank.

He was taken to Chalong Police Station while police investigate his claims.
