Dozens Injured After Walkway Collapses At Bang Phli Floating Market

Dozens of tourists and locals were left nursing minor injures on Sunday afternoon when a wooden bridge at one of Thailand’s longest running floating markets in Samut Prakan suddenly collapsed.

The incident at Bang Phli Floating Market was captured on CCTV and according to reports on Thai news websites, no one was seriously hurt, with only two of the 30 or so people said to have fallen into the meter deep water taken to hospital for treatment with the others receiving first aid for bumps and bruises at the scene.

The DailyNews website report the area has been closed for safety checks and an investigation underway to determine the cause of the collapse.
