YouTube Premium Launches In Thailand

YouTube finally launched its premium paid service in Thailand this week allowing users to kill intrusive ads.

YouTube Premium is a paid streaming subscription service launched back in November 2014 that provides advertising-free streaming of all videos hosted by YouTube, original content produced in collaboration with the site’s creators, access to audio-only versions of videos on the YouTube Music app, as well as offline playback and background playback of videos on mobile devices.

Five years later user in Thailand now have access to the service priced at 129 baht per month per person and 199 baht for a family plan for up to five people.

Mukpim Anantachai, head of YouTube partnerships in Thailand, said: “YouTube’s service is growing rapidly in Thailand, particularly entertainment — the largest category that involves music and TV”.
