Almost two weeks have passed since Jail Birdz on the top floor of Nana Plaza was last open for business and having suddenly closed and reopened a few days later in the past I didn’t think it was worth mentioning as I’d only need to re-write with an update but this time around that hasn’t happened.

I’ve been sat on my hands patiently waiting to see what unfolded.

Of course, I asked around to find out what was going on but didn’t want to piss on anyone’s parade by sharing as I expected the situation to be resolved sooner rather than later.

I spoke with the owner on Sunday night who told me he will be back in Bangkok this week and Jail Birdz will reopen.

Lets hope he is right and it’s back to business by the weekend as the top floor looks very dark and bleak when such a large bar have the lights turned off.

UPDATE Good news on the situation at Jail Birdz – the owner and landlord have worked out a deal that will see the bar reopen tonight, Tuesday 17th May, which is a result for everyone – owner, landlord and punters.

Here’s hoping the lights stay on and the dollybirds keep dancing.
