Rainy Season Has Finally Landed

The rainy season this year has been a long time coming but over the past week it would seem it has finally arrived with the daily downpours as heavy as ever.

This weather map below was taken at around 9.30pm on Sunday night and shows most of Bangkok is getting a soaking with flash floods likely after seeing photos of some streets knee deep in rain water a couple of days ago.

Now you could say coming from Scotland I should be used to rain and back in sunny Glasgow it doesn’t bother me at all or keep me home. In Thailand things are the complete opposite. I just can’t be doing with going out at all when the heavens open up. Living where there is no BTS means motorbikes to get around and as you may remember, I’m not keen on bikes on a dry sunny day let alone a dark rainy night, so going anywhere for anything is unlikely to happen.

I guess this means lots of news stories and photos of floods are on the way.
