Speeding Cabs Are Deadly

Published on 23rd March 2014 by Stickboy BKK

I’m not sharing these photos of a taxi crash on Lad Prao early Saturday morning that killed one person to keep you in the loop of local road traffic accidents but rather as a reminder for you to tell your Lewis Hamilton wannabe cab driver to ease of the gas as he shuttles you home a break neck speeds as so many Bangkok taxi drivers like to do.

I don’t know how many times I have told these nutters to slow down. If they don’t listen or think they know best you have a couple of options. Offer him a tip to take it easy or opt for bailing out and taking another cab. If using option two then to save any bad feelings or hassles from Somchai, just tell him you want to vomit. He will soon hit the brake pedal and be happy to have you out of his car. Do the right thing and add on 20 baht or so to the price on the meter.
