I’m a bit rough around the edges today after a great night out at Club Electric Blue for Big Andy’s 60th birthday party last night that seen me perched stage-side to judge the Nanapong dance contest.
Don’t ask me who won or what happened on the stage as I have no idea. After the first round I passed my pen and paper on to Toby from Bangkok Hangover as I knew it was going to get messy, very messy. And it did. I seen his t-shirt after three rounds of dirty dancing but I think he enjoyed the show.
After departing my judges chair I stood at the bar catching up and boozing with a few folks I haven’t seen in a while and couldn’t see a thing as the place was just too busy.
When I arrived at CEB just after nine you couldn’t swing a cat, the place was bursting at the seams. It was so busy I actually grabbed a beer and stood outside waiting for the show to get underway as it had been delayed due to the boys in brown doing a tour of the area as part of the PR campaign to reassure tourists the country is safe.
Much like the Bada Bing party on Thursday, CEB stayed packed all night and I don’t recall ever seeing either bar so busy with the staff run off their feet and the coolers running low on beer by the time the lights came on at 3am.
And a fair few of those beers passed my lips, cheers Mr Bacon, leaving me nursing a rare Sunday hangover. The coffee just isn’t working and I’m now considering an afternoon curer… don’t expect much in the way of anything from me today.
