Walk Through Bangkok’s ‘Green Lung’ Bang Krachao Park
Bang Krachao park is a hidden green paradise next to the polluted concrete jungle Bangkok – with lush trees, clean air, birds singing and water lapping.
The green escape has been called a ‘hidden jungle oasis’ and a ‘green lung’ thanks to the thick forest covering the massive site. The park forms a small island in the Chao Phraya River. It spans 1,920 hectares of land made up of communities that are home to more than 13,000 people, farmlands, and forests in the Phra Pradaeng District of Samut Prakan.
The area has become even more peaceful and greener with less pollution and fewer visitors. The area, just south of the city, absorbs up to 6,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year and releases about six million tonnes of oxygen a day.
Aside from cycling routes, visitors can take rowing boat rides around the area’s rivers, which are surrounded by nipa palm tree tunnels. Park attractions include cycling, herbal massages, museums featuring the history of the area, and fruit orchards run by locals.

Thailand’s First Vertical Car Park Opens In Bangkok
Thailand’s first vertical ‘robot parking’ system opened this month in Bangkok.
The machine next to Sam Yan MRT station can hold 16 cars which it lifts to different levels after the driver has pulled onto the metal cage and left the vehicle.
Operators of the Ferris wheel structure claim that the whole parking process can be completed in under 90 seconds.
The cost is 15 baht for two hours if the driver uses the MRT otherwise it’s 50 baht an hour.
If successful others will be built at other stations around the city.

Thanks, Thonglor! Bangkok Bars Closed AGAIN
Bars and massage parlours were closed again in Bangkok today following a flare-up in Covid-19 cases.
The well-known venues around Sukhumvit were shuttered and doors locked following an order by health officials to close all entertainment venues for 14 days in 41 provinces across the country.
Ministers hope the move – the third shut down since the pandemic started in March last year – will stifle a new outbreak of infections which was traced to upmarket bars and clubs in the Thonglor district of the city.
