Drunk Driver Blames Google Maps For Sending Him On To Busy Bangkok Railway

Photos of a Toyota Hilux stuck on a Bangkok railway were widely shared on social media after it emerged the drunk driver blamed Google Maps for his mishap.

The 29-year-old Thai man was found in a state of fury behind the wheel when police and railway officials arrived on the scene at around 3am on Wednesday morning.

Officers from Thung Song Hong police station soon realised Somchai was sozzled and breathalyzed him to find he was three times over the legal limit.

It also explained his anger at Google Maps for sending him on to the railway line between Lak Si and Bang Khen stations in the north of the city.

He was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Trains from the northeast into the capital were delayed by some five hours as it took rail workers some timeto remove the pickup and repair the minor damage it caused to the tracks.

Smartphone footage capturing the moment an ambulance toppled over on a muddy hill has gone viral over the weekend.

The pickup was carrying doctors and nurses home from a medical mission in a remote part of Kanchanaburi when the accident happened.

The hill became a mud pit following heavy storms in the west of the country leaving the ambulance driver in the hands of mother nature as he attempted his ascent up the slippery slope.

No one was seriously injured with everyone pitching in to flip the ambo back on its feet before making another attempt at the hill.

Motorbike Crammed Into Back Seat Of Taxi

Video of a taxi in Pathum Thani carrying a motorcycle on the back seat while keeping its doors open to accommodate the vehicle’s size has gone viral this week in Thailand.

Motorist Wae recorded the bizarre moment when he saw the pink Toyota taxi with the motorbike handlebars sticking out.

There was a man seated under the motorcycle while showing one hand above, believed to be giving a warning sign to other road users.

Wae said: “How could they carry a motorbike on the passenger seats? It is much too big to fit in safely.”

Loose Durian Hits Car On Highway

A dashcam captured the moment a durian fell from a speeding truck hitting the car behind it nearly causing an accident on the highway.

Motorist Khun Aor was shocked when her car was hit by the fruit which flew off the back of a pickup truck while she was driving to work in Samut Prakan earlier this month.

Footage shows the vehicle in front without a license plate full of durians losing one of the big fruits when it tumbled out of the enclosure.

Khun Aor said she was shocked and had no choice but to dodge out of the way.

She said: “I could not avoid the rolling fruit, so my car was smashed by it. I suffered a huge dent in my bonnet.”
