Photos of a Toyota Hilux stuck on a Bangkok railway were widely shared on social media after it emerged the drunk driver blamed Google Maps for his mishap.
The 29-year-old Thai man was found in a state of fury behind the wheel when police and railway officials arrived on the scene at around 3am on Wednesday morning.
Officers from Thung Song Hong police station soon realised Somchai was sozzled and breathalyzed him to find he was three times over the legal limit.
It also explained his anger at Google Maps for sending him on to the railway line between Lak Si and Bang Khen stations in the north of the city.
He was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Trains from the northeast into the capital were delayed by some five hours as it took rail workers some timeto remove the pickup and repair the minor damage it caused to the tracks.
