Biking On Chiang Mai Hiking Path

When they get caught, three “farrangs” captured on video dirt-biking through a restricted area on a road between two Chiang Mai mountains will probably say they couldn’t read the signs.

Police, however, don’t care.

The supposed foreigners –- the video was dark to truly see, but Thais wouldn’t do this, of course – were seen on motocross bikes on a hiking path between Doi Suthep and Doi Pui on the way to Wat Pha Lat.

Abbot Phrakhru Thirasutphot wasn’t amused, telling Thai media is was inappropriate for bikers to be on the path devote to those on foot. Of course, it had happened before without police being involved, he admitted.

The area is restricted to bikes due to the path being overgrown and dangerous. In the video, one of the rider did crash.
If caught, the mad motocrossers face fines of 1,000 baht each.
