Photos of the Food Park located at Big C on Ratchadamri Road in Bangkok looking like a ghost town have been widely circulated on social media over the past 24 hours.
Of course, food courts are currently closed in Bangkok due to the government order, however, this has been the scene since last April.
Normally the Big C Superstore would be packed from open until close with thousands of Chinese tourists passing through its doors every hour.
The Ratchadamri branch was the companies flagship store making more money than any other in Thailand.
The overflow reached every part of the complex including the Food Park which just like the supermarket, was packed from morning until night.
Now, with restrictions on entering Thailand still in place, both are deserted and like a ghost town.
Welcome To Thailand And ‘F*%k You’
A video of a foul-mouthed tuk tuk driver firing expletives at a tourist and his girlfriend over a disagreement about the fare has gone viral.
Mr “F*%k You” is not who the Tourism Authority Of Thailand had in mind when thinking about a new poster boy for future advertising campaigns to attract visitors back to the country but he stepped up uninvited to put Bangkok back on the global map with his outrageous outburst.
Despite his threatening and abusive behaviour, not much of a punishment will be handed down to Mr Tuk Tuk if the recent incident involving a couple from Singapore who were threatened with a knife by a taxi driver at the airport is anything to go by.
The driver, who was caught on camera, was fined only 3,000 baht and suspended for just 90 days.
