A month after cannabis was removed from Thailand’s narcotics list, a hospital restaurant has rolled out a weed-inspired menu which has curious customers flocking to get a taste.
Located in a wellness centre of Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr hospital in Prachinburi, about two hours from Bangkok, the restaurant uses up to five leaves in dishes, some of which were traditionally cooked with cannabis before it became illegal.
Food Park At Big C Ratchadamri Is Dead Without Chinese Tourists
Photos of the Food Park located at Big C on Ratchadamri Road in Bangkok looking like a ghost town have been widely circulated on social media over the past 24 hours.
Of course, food courts are currently closed in Bangkok due to the government order, however, this has been the scene since last April.
Normally the Big C Superstore would be packed from open until close with thousands of Chinese tourists passing through its doors every hour.
The Ratchadamri branch was the companies flagship store making more money than any other in Thailand.
The overflow reached every part of the complex including the Food Park which just like the supermarket, was packed from morning until night.
Now, with restrictions on entering Thailand still in place, both are deserted and like a ghost town.
Lower Sukhumvit Is A Ghost Town
This was the scene showing many closed bars, hotels, shops and restaurants on Sukhumvit Road this week.
Like many people living in Bangkok, I was hoping the powers that be weren’t going to pull the plug on restaurants. Sadly, they did.
They’ll be staying closed until further notice when someone decides it’s safe for people to eat with friends and family again.
There’s a lot of people whose livelihoods are been lost. It really is a sad sight.
Quakers: Pet Duck Rides Owner’s Motorcycle
This motorcycle rider is often seen around Chinatown at night carrying his pet duck on the back of his bike.
Here he is in a video at a retro night market near Bangkok’s Ong Ang canal. Shoppers gathered round to take pictures of the unusual pillion passenger and ask the old man questions about the cute pet.
He said his duck has a name tag around his neck which also has a flashing light and his phone number, in case he ever gets lost. He has a remote control which he says controls the duck.
