Phatthalung Woman Attacks TV Anchor On Camera

A Phatthalung woman trying to shine a spotlight on a frame-up job done to her mother figured the best way to do that was to attack a TV presenter announcing the government lottery draw.

Logic obviously escaped the suspect, identified only as Prapaphan, when she put a screwdriver to the throat of Channel 5 news anchor Thannanya Pipitwinchakarn as she was rehearsing her lines before Friday’s broadcast.

The show went on without either Thannanya with Prapaphan ending up in cuffs. The announcer suffered no real injuries.

Prapaphan told reporters she wanted to draw attention to a lack of progress in the police investigation of a case where krathom leaves and oil were found at her mother’s home. Her ma isn’t a druggie, Prapaphan insisted, so someone was trying to frame her. But police weren’t clearing her name as quickly as she liked.

She decided to vault herself onto television to decry the situation, but apparently didn’t check the TV guide, as she didn’t realize the show wasn’t on the air yet.

Not to worry, though, video of the encounter has been broadcast gazillions of times on the internet.
