Restaurant Told To Remove Sign Banning Chinese Customers

A restaurant owner in Chiang Mai was told to remove a notice banning Chinese customers from her establishment on Sunday after photos of the sign went viral on social media.

Tourist Police soon got a sniff of the story and paid the restaurant a visit where the owner told them she felt she had no other choice after a large group of Thai customers left fearing they would catch the coronavirus when a party of Chinese tourists stopped in to eat.

Officers said the sign had to go and should be replaced with something a little more subtle, suggesting she write the restaurant has run out of food.

Social media users were split over the debate about the sign, with around half agreeing saying it should be the owners choice while the other half said it made Thailand look bad.

Terrifying Moment Stage Collapses During Concert

This is the terrifying moment musicians and spectators ran for safety after a stage collapsed during a concert last Sunday.

Revellers were enjoying the performance when the four-levelled stage gave way in Chiyaphum province.

Footage shows spectators dancing along with the music before the huge backdrop fell down and the musicians jumped off the stage.

Band director Anirut Dongthong said: “We were shocked when it happened while playing the show. We left the stage right after the top part of the wall tumbled down.

“Luckily no members of the audience or musicians were injured by the accident. Everyone was safe and no one was hurt.”

Anirut added that the huge backdrop must have been blown over by strong winds which broke due to the impact.

The damage to the venue and some equipment was estimated to be around 100,000 Baht.

The band director added that they will stop any future performances until the structure has been secured to prevent any more accidents.

MP Allegedly Caught Looking At Porn In Parliament

An MP was allegedly caught red-handed viewing porn on his smartphone during a round of debates on the budget at a parliament sitting on Wednesday evening.

The photos of the MP were snapped during the sitting by a reporter who shared them on social media causing an online uproar at what was described as “inappropriate behaviour”.

MP Allegedly Caught Looking At Porn In Parliament

The story has been the highlight on news channels all morning though not one has named the MP due to the strict defamation laws in Thailand.

This isn’t the first time a member of parliament has been caught looking at x-rated content in parliament and I’m certain it won’t be the last either.

Toddler Rescued From 40ft high Balcony Ledge

The moment neighbours climbed a four-storey building to save a toddler stuck on a balcony has gone viral after the heart-stopping moment was caught on camera.

The two-year-old girl was seen tiptoeing precariously along the 40ft high concrete ledge in Bangkok, Thailand on September 16.

Shocked residents noticed the girl and formed a human chain to scale the outside of the apartment block.

Passing motorcycle rider Sumrit Changcharoen, a rescue volunteer, said he noticed the chaos and joined in the rescue.

Footage shows how there was one man on each level of the building as they reached up to the girl.

After almost an hour, the resident in a blue t-shirt grabbed the girl and she was carried to safety.

Bizarrely, nobody knows how the girl climbed onto the ledge as there was no opening for her to climb through and the hole in the blue plastic was only smashed so neighbours could try and reach through to grab her.

Sumrit said: ”I was riding home when I saw there were people panicking. I called my friend and we all climbed the building together.

”We still don’t know how the little girl climbed onto the balcony. We’re all just relieved that we could save her from hurting herself.”

The child’s mother, Thiphawan Madok, 31 added: “I have no no idea how my daughter climbed all the way up there. I wasn’t home that day, my mother was supposed to be watching over her.”
