Snake Swallows 2ft Long Iguana On Bangkok Golf Course

Smartphone footage of a snake munching down a 2 foot long Iguana on a Bangkok golf course has been doing the rounds after it was shared on social media last week.

The Golden Tree Snake was spotted wrapping its jaws around the reptile’s head on a green last Thursday afternoon at The Royal Golf And Country Club in Bangkok.

Murray Darling, originally from Scotland, watched the serpent spend five minutes swallowing the stranded Iguana, which measured at least 60cm long.

Incredible footage shows the venomous snake wrapping itself around the thorny body of the lizard to crush it as it struggles to squeeze it inside its mouth.

Despite the size of the Iguana, it eventually succumbed to the snake on the 14th green.

The Golden Tree Snake, also known as a Flying Snake or its scientific name of Chrysopelea ornata, is fairly common across Asia.

They normally feed on rats, birds, small lizards, eggs and insects but it is rare to see them devouring such a large Iguana in broad daylight.
