Two university students were arrested and fined a 1,000 baht each for acting in an obscene manner after photos of a young woman posing naked on a bridge in Kalasin province went viral.

Kalasin governor Kraisorn Kongchalard ordered police to investigate and find the naked woman and the person responsible for posting her pictures on social media.

A 22-year-old university student and her 23-year-old boyfriend were soon tracked down and taken to Sahatsakhan police station for questioning on Friday morning.

The pair told police as they were heading home late Wednesday night after a few drinks they stopped on Thepsuda Bridge across Lampao reservoir to snap a couple of shots as there was nobody around claiming they have no idea how the “private” pictures of the young woman made it on to Facebook.

“She began to undress and asked me to take photos of her in the nude”, adding, “I have no idea how her photos in my mobile phone got into the hands of somebody”

“I am so sorry for what happened to her”.

The governor told reporters parents need to keep a better eye on their kids and make sure they don’t pull shameful stunts like this after drinking alcohol.
